Aidan McLellan (b. 1996) lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. McLellan’s installation practice explores the interrelation between documentary images with manufactured scenes; found  readymades with fabricated objects; and enigmatic narratives with staged performances. He revels in an ambiguity and otherworldliness generated by the combination of these diverse forms of media, and credits this interplay as creating a space where anyone can improvisationally roam. In the creation of these spaces, McLellan analyzes the nature of awareness; in which, the corporeal form and conscious mind undulate between states of discordance and congruity.  He is heavily influenced by psychoanalytic principals, particularly the Freudian theory of afterwardsness—a postulation that comprehension arises through the recollection of past events.  McLellan has exhibited in Brooklyn, New York, and Tokyo, Japan, and holds an MFA in Photography from Pratt Institute.
